NEW SIGNATURE EVENT FOR FRANKSTON
Frankston will have a new, organically grown, New Signature Event commencing no later than May-August 2022.
This New Festival will succeed Frankston Music Festival and incorporate selected design elements.
A confidential report detailing festival design, timing and budget will be provided to the 21st September 2020 Council Meeting. It should be noted that last September, Council had approved funding of $1.2 million over six years.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 Frankston Music Festival Organising Committee has been responding to Government and local Council advice.
All of the venues for the independent clubs, restaurants and community groups providing live music had already cancelled or postponed performances in accordance with requirements.
Yesterday, Frankston City Council, as an essential service, extended the closure of Frankston Arts Centre beyond Easter Monday until 31 May. Accordingly, our Gala Show Fem Belling‘s 'A Night at the Oscars' on 1 May is cancelled and all patrons who had purchased tickets will be refunded in full.
In response to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19 the Frankston Music Festival has had to postpone or cancel a few shows so far. We are hopeful that with the festival being six weeks away that we will be in a position to provide entertainment for our loyal fans and support the local businesses who take part in the festival.

WOW! What an incredible time we've had with this year's Frankston Music Festival! We had packed venues across Greater Frankston throughout the festival, with many people enjoying the live, local performances by some of Australia's most talented artists.
We'd like to thank everyone for their support in the lead up to, and during this huge event. Without the help of tireless volunteers, along with supporters, participating venues, and of course the musicians this event would not be possible.
The Frankston Music Festival took music to the streets yesterday thanks to Yamala Bowls Club, Open Mic' at the Green.
Amateur performers showed their talent at a lunchtime concert in Wells Street Frankston, and will be there again today.
